Claden’s Notes: Through the Labyrinth

Context: Every Thursday(ish) I play D&D online (we're actually using the SWADE system for this campaign) with some friend. The setting is entirely homebrew (both DM and players worked to create the world before playing). I play an iron being (not a robot) known as an Ironing. His name is Claden and he is a Varaq, responsible for obtaining variables, measurements, metrics, and statistics of all sorts which he will input into the "great machine," an all knowing device. These are notes from Claden's perspective while we play.
  • We are at the entrance of the labyrinth. The walls are smooth and nondescript.
  • We’ve come to a 50 foot wide chasm with a rickety bridge. Plume brings across one of our portal stones.
  • We head down a tunnel with whispers. The whispers coalesces into a riddle – which Bashir quickly answers.
  • We find: A serpent entwined around a staff, A balance scale with uneven weights, An open book with blank pages, A single candle flame.
  • Plume touches the candle. The candle glows brightly. The other symbols fade and a door opens.
  • We’re in a long tunnel – and there is a crystal chok at the end. I offer it several gifts. He declines. We ask for the tear of the mountain – to which it claims to be. He does not come upon our beckoning.
  • We contact Opal with mind link. They say he will be revered and not destroyed.
  • I touch it – and a sound rings out.
  • Plume convinces it to go. However two more crystal chok appear. Bashir Bribes one with coins.
  • We polymorph it into a tortoise, and store it in my compartment.
  • The trial is now complete (And we received and advance)
