Context: Every Thursday(ish) I play D&D online (we're actually using the SWADE system for this campaign) with some friend. The setting is entirely homebrew (both DM and players worked to create the world before playing). I play an iron being (not a robot) known as an Ironing. His name is Claden and he is a Varaq, responsible for obtaining variables, measurements, metrics, and statistics of all sorts which he will input into the "great machine," an all knowing device. These are notes from Claden's perspective while we play. This adventure took place BEFORE our current adventure.
- Aboard the Dauntless – before our adventure started, a vessel made by Humans, commissioned by the Line of Hekaton
- Crewed by a man – half the crew are men, and the rest is a hodge podge of races
- Claden wears a cloak when he goes above deck – the ocean is a like a desert to humans. The salty water rusts us away quickly.
- As usual, the other Ironings avoid me.
- A Lie was Discovered
- Cryptic Information of an Unknown Source was found
- Someone helps us / we help them
- A scream awakens the ship, and someone has fell overboard; Toledo the Female gnome. The other Ironings pelt her with questions
- Ricardo the Pangodig, tells us “Meet me in 10 minutes”
- He tells us Toledo was not on the boat when it left, and she’s not who she seems
- We meet Philip Lucifer III, Bosun of the Ship. In the registry neither Toledo or Ricardo are in the ledger.
- We meet up with the 2 ironings and after an exchange of information we learn from their notes that neither their pangodig or gnome were in their notes early on in the voyage
- We question people in the hold of the ship – looking for the gnome. A dogonian smells out the gnome, and the scent leads us to a secret opening in the bottom of the ship
- The underside of the ship has a series of makeshift ladders
- Plume follows wet footprints in the underthing, and finds a featureless corpse, it fell apart upon a small tug
- I meet with the captain to discuss the body we found. She leaves me with the duty to fully explore the mysterious spaces, double check passenger long
- Plume finds a stone sarcophagus at the bow of the underside. She shattered my ruler trying to get it opened. Plume can never borrow anything from me again.
- Apparently my notebook smells like Cumin
- We reported to the captain – she would not admit Bashir a special hat.
- There may be multiple of these shape shifters on this boat
- We came upon an elf who smelled of Cumin – who was one of the shape shifters – was also the pangodig. He defected from this job of trying to collect an Oni body for a dark ritual
